Dr. Eric W. Anderson, MD — Medical Director, Elevate Chicago

Medical Director

Dr. Eric W. Anderson, MD

MD · Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon · Licensed in Illinois

Dr. Anderson is Medical Director of Elevate Chicago, a licensed physician and surgeon in Illinois. He completed his medical degree at Creighton University School of Medicine, a residency in general surgery at the University of Louisville, and a fellowship in plastic surgery at the University of Utah.

He prescribes GLP-1 receptor agonists for weight management and testosterone for hormone optimization, and he performs body contouring for patients after substantial weight loss. Those things are usually done by three different clinicians. Doing all of them means seeing the full arc of metabolic therapy — what changes across twelve or eighteen months of treatment, what the body keeps, what it doesn't, and what patients wish someone had told them at the start.

GLP-1 medications are peptide therapeutics. Semaglutide is a 31-amino-acid analog of human GLP-1; tirzepatide is a 39-amino-acid dual GIP/GLP-1 receptor agonist. They are also the most rigorously studied peptides in clinical use, with large randomized cardiovascular and weight-outcome trials behind them. That is the standard Dr. Anderson holds the rest of this library to, and it is why every page here states plainly what the evidence supports and what it does not.

As Medical Director he sets the clinical protocols this practice runs on, reviews and signs the patient-facing clinical material, serves as the supervising physician for the nursing staff, reviews charts, and is the escalation point when a case needs a physician's judgment rather than a protocol's. Nothing goes to a patient under the Elevate name that he has not approved.

He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and the Mountain West and Illinois Societies of Plastic Surgeons.

Dr. Anderson lives in Chicago with his wife and three children.
